In Lignano it is allowed to sign rental agreements lasting less than 8 years (4 years+further 4 years, if automatically renovated), provided that this issue has been agreed upon with the landlord. After 8 years both tenant and landlord are entitled to ask for a further extension of the rental agreement under renewed conditions, or withdraw from the same agreement provided that at least 6 months before the other party concerned has been informed per registered letter (failing this letter the agreement has to be considered silently renewed under the same conditions as before).
